Dianna Cortez [she/her] is a NYC-based Director, AEA Actor, Opera Singer, Voice Artist, and Coach. As Co-Artistic Director of Lucada Mélange, she creates award-winning works blending opera, acting, Butoh, puppetry, composition, and visual art. She was Artistic Director at City Attic Theatre, producing new and classic plays. Broadway stages include Associate Director for Dancing at Lughnasa, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Twelfth Night. She is developing Les Berceaux & The Lighthouse, an experimental opera. Acting credits include Therese Raquin, The Most Beautiful Lullaby You’ve Ever Heard, Crave, Hamlet, and Much Ado About Nothing. Her audiobooks include The Diamond Curse, The Haunting Ink, and Lunar Legacy. As a vocalist, she performs works by Poulenc, Bizet, Fauré, Edith Piaf, and explores jazz, Celtic, musical theatre, and experimental vocal forms. Dianna has coached Ethan Hawke, Ed Harris, Marisa Tomei, Vincent D’Onofrio, Sam Rockwell, and Kim Cattrall. She teaches at LIU Brooklyn/The New Group, Circle in the Square Theatre School, Molloy/Cap 21, The Lee Strasberg Institute/NYU, The Linklater Center, and privately. Her training includes a B.A. in Opera and Acting from C.M.U., an M.F.A. in Acting from S.M.U., Designated Linklater Teacher/Mentor, Louis Colaianni Speechwork, and extensive study in opera, movement, and Butoh.
