Azudi Onyejekwe [he/him] is a Brooklyn-based actor, director, educator, playwright, musician, and proud first-generation Igbo-American. He is the Founding Artistic Director of The Liminal Theatre Collective, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company dedicated to producing new works by artists of color and cultivating the next generation of diverse theatremakers. Azudi’s performance career spans Broadway (original casts: Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Violet), TV/Film (Madam Secretary, HairBrained), and Tony-winning regional theaters including The Guthrie Theater, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and American Repertory Theater. As a director, he has helmed new works across NYC at venues including The Flea Theater, Theaterlab, Teatro Círculo, The Producers Club, 54 Below, and beyond. Azudi's original plays include In Her House (world premiere, The Flea, 2025) and The War Between Us (Semifinalist, Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference, 2026). He was also named a Semifinalist for The Movement x Black List Ladder Commission (2025). An educator for over a decade, Azudi has previously taught at Molloy University and NYU Tisch. He holds a BFA in Theatre and Africana Studies from NYU Tisch and a Master of Science in Education Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania.
